 CS Magoha announces reopening of Universities and  TVET institution  from October 5                              CS for Education George Magoha  Final year students in all universities and tertiary institutions are expected to report back to class on Monday, October 5, in phased reopening,  Ministry of Education CS George Magoha has said. The Boards of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions (TVETs), Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and University Councils  will announce the resumption date of physical  learning for other classes. All the institutions will be expected to adhere strictly to the Ministry of Health guidelines on COVID-19. The learning institutions  will be required to sporadically monitor temperatures for all students, enforce observance of hygiene as well as adopt innovative ways of enforcing social distance.  President Uhuru extends Curfew and Bar restrictions                              President Uhuru Kenyatta  In a statement on Monday, Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua said the planned National COVID-19 Conference will be presided over by Uhuru on Monday next Monday, thereafter, he will make his 12th national address on the Covid-19 situation on Tuesday. Uhuru made the 11th national address on August 26, where he announced the extension of the curfew by 30 days among other measures to contain the spread of the virus. The government has extended the existing COVID-19 containment measures until Tuesday, September 29, pending a review.
